Objective: This study aims to explore the efficacy of psychotherapy in improving anxiety and depression in hospitalized patients recovering from schizophrenia. Methods: 80 schizophrenia patients were enrolled from March, 2021 to January 2, 2022. The control group was given conventional intervention, and the experimental group performed conventional intervention combined with psychological counseling. Negative emotions and satisfaction levels were compared before and after the intervention. Results: The score level of anxiety self-rating scale and depression self-rating scale in the two groups were P> 0.05, and the score level of anxiety self-rating scale and depression self-rating scale in the two groups were significantly reduced, while the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group, P <0.05. The satisfaction of the experimental group was higher than the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: Routine intervention and psychological counseling work well in patients with schizophrenia.
